Man Utd chief Arnold decides on Ronaldo fine for preseason omission

Manchester United chief executive Richard Arnold won't punish Cristiano Ronaldo should he miss tomorrow's flight for their preseason tour.

Ronaldo is not anticipated to be on the plane on Friday when the United squad travel to Bangkok to begin a tour which kicks off with a showdown with bitter rivals Liverpool in the Thai capital next week.

Ronaldo has missed this week's preseason workout for "personal reasons", though his dearth comes as he has asked the club to sell him.

United have the alternative of fining Ronaldo because he is in effect breaking club rules by not fulfilling his contractual responsibilities in not going on the tour. To make matters worse Ronaldo's dearth from the money-spinning trip will influence ticket and shirt sales, because he has been used as the poster boy of the tour.

But due to the sensitive reasons for him remaining in Lisbon, Arnold has decided not to sanction Ronaldo, says the Daily Flash.

Arnold is said to be "relaxed" about the fact Ronaldo might miss the entire tour - and is more concerned with deciding the striker's immediate future. attendance
